Plas Dinas is an award-winning country house hotel located in Snowdonia in South Wales that offers rooms, venue hire and its elegant restaurant: The Gunroom. The kitchen is headed up by chef Daniel ap Geraint who looks after a monthly-changing menu based around seasonal British ingredients. Designed in the style of a traditional country house but with accents of London glamour, the restaurant offers a laid-back yet luxurious setting to indulge in a fine dining three-course feast.
Why not begin your evening with a drink at the bar, which is complete with original wooden beams and art deco stools and seating to bring an old-meets-new feel to the space? A selection of trendy cocktails, delectable gins, spirits and wines are available to be enjoyed here in the Gunroom Bar, or in the cosy Drawing Room, and are the perfect way to begin an evening at Plas Dinas.
The menu constantly evolves with the seasons and uses the freshest local Welsh produce available, with the a la carte menu offering starters, mains and desserts. But that’s not all – each course is interspersed with hidden courses to elevate the dining experience and provide an extra layer of intrigue. Particular highlights include charred langoustine with shellfish risotto, squid ink, roast fennel, and preserved lemon to start, hearty main courses such as charred fillet of beef with braised rib and Penderyn bourguignon, carrot puree and beef dripping chips and artistically-executed desserts including vanilla poached rhubarb, demerara custard, pistachio biscuit and rhubarb sorbet.
Afternoon tea is also served daily in settings throughout the house and includes unlimited sandwiches, dainty sweet treats and free-flowing tea or coffee. While breakfast is served daily to residents and non-residents alike and includes a selection of continental and delicious hot options.
