Edinburgh’s The Dome is a historical and glamorous site that offers a range of luxurious dining experiences that anyone can enjoy. Choosing between the Grill Room, the Georgian Tea Room, the Club Room, and the private dining room that can host up to 80 people and is perfect for any event and celebration, The Dome’s variety is truly an enviable sight for any establishment.
The building that The Dome is home to has a long heritage of medicine and commerce. First built in 1775 as an old Physician’s Hall, it was rebuilt numerous times by the Commercial Bank of Scotland as a place where trade occurred. Today, intrinsic designs and architectures remain visible to diners, such as the large staircase and the elaborate columns. This atmosphere envelopes diners eating at The Dome with a sense of history and luxury. This look into a glamorous and overindulgent past completes the culinary experience, yet cannot hope to overshadow the indulgent foods available on the menus.
The Grill Room, which offers lunch and dinner, has an A La Carte Menu that allows one to start with oysters and artisan bread with tarragon and chive butter. From then, for mains, why not try a mix of vegetarian choices, like Moroccan stuffed butternut squash, or something meatier, like the Scottish highland venison steak, or perhaps something from the grill, like the 10oz sirloin steak with a wide choice in sauces and sides. For dessert, try something sickeningly sweet like the home-made sticky toffee pudding, or something more savoury like an I.J Mellis cheese board.
The Georgian Tea Room serves afternoon tea and offers luxurious loose-leaf teas, tipsy tea and savoury sandwiches and sweet scones. The Club Room, meanwhile, serves brunch and presents guests with a long tea selection to go with breakfast classics, like pancakes, French toast, and morning rolls.
Whatever you choose, know that The Dome caters to all dietary and allergy requirements and they offer separate menus for vegans, vegetarians, and even picky children.
