Based in a picture-postcard hotel overlooking the Thames at Richmond, Steven Edwards at the Bingham Riverhouse is the first London restaurant from the chef who won Masterchef: The Professionals. Serving Edwards’s signature style of contemporary British cuisine, the restaurant serves up contemporary luxury with a side order of river views.
Given the hotel’s striking exterior, with its impressive brick façade and its gardens spilling down towards the river, it’s no surprise that the restaurant continues this feeling of elegance. The bright and spacious interiors lend a relaxed air to the restaurant, with the large windows and pastel-coloured walls adding a classy but cosy feeling to the dining room.
The à la carte menu is offered during both lunch and dinner service and focuses on seasonal British produce. Starters on the menu range from pork cheek and black pudding terrine to raw Porthilly oysters, served with beetroot horseradish.
Main courses include dishes such as lamb saddle served with broccoli purée and shepherd’s pie, and skrei cod with potato and chargrilled leek. Vegetarian options such as carrot wellington with onion sauce are also available.
To finish, pudding options include a Granny Smith apple crumble panna cotta with apple sorbet and marigold, as well as pink grapefruit sorbet accompanied by carrot cake and mandarin parfait.
Come on a Sunday, meanwhile, and you can expect to find a five-course tasting menu for £55, with dishes such as white onion espuma, and slow-cooked duck egg appearing on the menu. As well as a focus on every ingredient being used to its fullest potential, Edwards’ dishes are also all stunningly presented to add an extra bit of wow-factor to your meal.
Expect an extensive global wine list to accompany the food menu as well as a selection of other alcoholic and soft drinks.
