Join the queue at Stein’s Fish & Chips, Rick Stein’s upmarket take on the traditional chippy, where he delivers fillets of monkfish, megrim sole and john dory alongside the more traditional cod, haddock and plaice – sourced from non-threatened stocks. Choose either deep-fried in batter or grilled, order some freshly baked baps to make chip butties and have mushy peas, tartare or curry sauce on the side. Sit inside at wooden tables and benches (with a glass of wine or beer) or takeaway in fine weather.
