Best restaurants in Knightsbridge

The Mandarin Oriental has a lot to offer when it comes to food. Home to Dinner by Heston and The Aubery, this extravagant hotel also has a tea room where diners can enjoy top-tier breakfast and afternoon tea. 

Newcomers to the Knightsbridge dining scene aren’t too common, but Sette (the first London venture from American hospitality group Scarpetta) has managed to make itself quite at home since opening. There is deliciously al dente handmade pasta to enjoy, among other things.

With two Michelin stars there’s no denying that Dinner by Heston Blumenthal offers up some of the capital’s best cooking, served in a fun and interesting way. There are little touches, like food facts wrapped around your napkins, that let you know you’re in for a treat.

Classic British dishes designed with fresh, seasonal produce in mind, and a very impressive collection of wines make this restaurant within the five-star Capital hotel in Knightsbridge a worthy choice for lunch or dinner.

The benefit of a chain is you know what you’re getting, and with Hawksmoor restaurants, that’s failsafe steak and rich, indulgent side orders. This particular site is tucked away at basement level which gives it a cosy, secret-society-type atmosphere.

For sheer indulgence, you can’t beat the interiors at The Lanesborough Grill with their coupling of golden-yellow tones and Wedgewood blue, plus some pretty impressive chandeliers. Ingredients here are high end, matching the spend expected from its guests. Think lobster, roe deer and quail. 

Neha Mishra has become a genuine superstar in Dubai on the back of her Kinoya Ramen Bar, so it wasn't a huge surprise to see her pop-up as part of Harrods' big Dining Hall renovation in 2023. Kinoya at Harrods isn't quite a mirror of the Dubai outpost, but it's still excellent, serving up delicious Wagyu beef snacks and steaming bowls of ramen. 

There aren’t many Russian restaurants in London, and fewer still in Knightsbridge. Because of this, Mari Vanna offers a truly unique dining experience. Expect kitsch interiors and robust Eastern European flavours.

Whether you’re eating in the luxurious, well-upholstered dining room or alfresco on the pavement terrace, Zafferano remains a staple for delicious, sophisticated Italian cooking and top-notch regional Italian wines. Think veal Milanese with saffron risotto or their signature lobster linguine, all executed with aplomb.

The effortlessly ritzy Brunello at the Baglioni is a swish space for very grown-up occasions when nothing but the best will do. Italian classics, afternoon teas, top cocktails...they're all there. You can even incorporate a walk in Hyde Park to complete the package. 

Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant was never going to be a flop now, was it? This luxuriously-decked out space plays host to fine dining French food. Petrus is another of our gold award winners and holder of a Michelin star.

The Aubrey's stunning interiors are reason enough to pay a visit, but we're also big fans of the luxurious Japanese menu, which includes sushi platters, hirata buns and an exceptional cocktail programme too. This is also a good brunch spot, with delicious brunch menus served over the weekend to a live DJ soundtrack.

Japanese and Italian might not sound like a natural pairing, but curiously the coupling seems to work at this Knightsbridge restaurant. There’s a satisfyingly crunchy rice pizza that’s topped with spicy salmon and sea bass spaghetti to boot, that will pique the interest of even the most seasoned diner.

Although not quite as grand as the original Cantinetta Antinori, based on the ground floor of the stunning 15th century Palazzo Antinori in Florence, the London site still embodies the spirit of Florence, with stunning wood and brass interiors. The menu is authentically Tuscan as well, and the stellar wine list includes rare wines and exclusive vintages from the Antinori family estate. 

Despite having been in situ for well over ten years now, Zuma somehow manages to still feel cutting edge and modern with its clean Japanese design and confident menu. There’s a sushi counter that allows views of the kitchen, and is perfect for solo-dining, or more traditional tables in the main space.

Is there any better cuisine at crowd-pleasing than Italian, we wonder? We’ve tried to come up with an alternative but are struggling, and in this arena Harry’s provides. It serves up a winning combination of pizza and pasta, which makes this Knightsbridge restaurant the perfect place to take the whole family.

Harvey Nichols has long had a good reputation for food in its department stores, and the flagship Knightsbridge location is no different. There's plenty of choice on the Fifth Floor but we love the cafe for it's easy-going all-day menus and bright, spaces aesthetic. The views up here are nice too, and there's something on the menu for everyone, even the fussiest of children. 

Seasoned Michelin-starred performer that for years has been enthralling Knightsbridge regulars with its sophisticated, refined, bite-sized cooking and sleek, slinky dining room, dominated by the theatrical open kitchen. Succulent and creatively spiced dishes, including brilliant vegetarians ones, come in all shapes and sizes.

World-renowned Swedish chef Bjorn Frantzen has opened his first UK restaurant in the iconic Harrods store, giving Londoners a chance to try his award-winning food. Blending elements of Nordic and Asian cuisine, along with some traditional British flavours, it's an unmissable experience for discerning diners.

We’re big fans of restaurants that don’t try to compete with the trends, instead staying true to their roots. Mr Chow does just that. This is the place to go for old school glamour, coupled with accomplished Chinese cooking.

An iconic London Italian, Sale e Pepe saw a refurb in 2024 that brought back some of the restaurant's old glamour. The sleek, deep grey dining room and statement marble bar are very fetching indeed, and the menu delivers too with superb antipasti and fresh produce alongside generous Italian mains and one of the best tiramisus in London. 

Tucked away in the backstreets of Sloane Square, Michelin-starred chef Peter Joseph is no stranger to Indian fine dining. The menu is divided into small plates, grilled items and curries along with innovative house cocktails that have been thoughtfully created.
