All The Best - Max Clifford

The best do ever was my wedding (to Jo Westwood) this Easter at Great Fosters in Surrey. Ruth Lorenzo, Rick Wakeman, Bobby Davro and The Searchers – who I helped launch in the 60s – all performed at the reception. It was great to see my friends and family share a perfect day.

Last summer, I took Simon Cowell along to the CHASE children’s hospice. The kids had a great time asking Simon questions such as ‘why are you so nasty?’, to which he replied ‘because it’s more fun than being nice.’ It was a such a buzz to see the children have a laugh. It also led to great publicity for Children’s’ Hospices UK, of which we are both patrons.

The best place to stay in the world is Sandy Lane in Barbados. It is expensive, but this is justified due to the quality of everything from the food and rooms to the staff, who are always up for a laugh. It really is idyllic and I stay there as often as I can.

The greatest ever event has to be Woodstock. I went along when I was representing Joe Cocker. No one expected more than a few thousand people to show up, and there ended up being more like half a million. It was so exciting, nothing like that had ever been done before and it remains the best major concert of all time.

There are several restaurants that I love, but if I had to pick one it would be Scalini on Walton Street. Their veal chop is the best in the world, and Wimbledon_2009-012resized.jpgalways nice and big – perfect for a large appetite like mine.

I went to Wimbledon in 2008 with Bentley Motors and watched the men’s singles final between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, which was one that will go down in history. Everyone had a brilliant time.

My ultimate party would be in our beautiful garden at home. I would have about a dozen friends over for a barbecue. Good company is spiritually uplifting.
