The Shard unveils its restaurant offering

The Shard 2012 - The-Shard_2012.jpgThree restaurant and two bars – all backed by high-profile restaurant groups – are set to open in The Shard next spring.

One restaurant, from business partners Rainer Becker (Zuma, Roka) and Arjun Waney (La Petite Maison, Aurelia), will be a contemporary rotisserie and grill (with a separate bar), located on the 32nd floor.

The other two, developed by Aqua Restaurant Group, will bring the concept of Soho’s Aqua Kyoto, Aqua Nueva and Aqua Spirit to the Shard; one will also serve cuisine hitherto unavailable in London. The two restaurants will be located on the 31st and 33rd floors.

Stunning views of the London skyline – which are turning out to be this season’s must-have in the restaurant world – are guaranteed at these new venues, particularly from the central triple-height atrium bar, which will act as the entry point to all three restaurants.

The Shard, designed by internationally renowned architect Renzo Piano and set in the London Bridge Quarter, is the tallest building in western Europe. Although it officially opened in July 2012, the whole project will only be completed by spring 2013.
