A smoked salmon and salt beef bar is set to open in W1 this
autumn.
Delancey & Co is inspired by the famous Jewish deli bars of New York’s Lower East Side, somewhere that founder Daniel Moosah has spent a lot
of time. ‘I am Jewish, these foods are my heritage and I have been eating them and making them my entire life,’ he told Square Meal.
The offering will include smoked salmon bagels, salt beef and reuben sandwiches, chicken soup, challah rolls and pickles. There will also be six different types of flavoured cream cheese, including
one made with black pepper and pink horseradish.
The drinks list will include a range of American craft beers, and Prosecco on tap.
The food will be ‘authentic in its Jewish roots’, Moosah tells us. Though he adds, ‘It is more of a modern New York-style offering than a traditional Jewish one.’
The restaurant will be open all-day, from brunch through to dinner with exact opening times to be confirmed. In terms of style, diners can expect stool-seating at marble counters with pop-art
imagery on the walls. A takeaway service will also be available.
