Another week, another spate of restaurant openings across the capital. Here’s everything you need to know in easily digestible chunks.

The Hour Glass, South Kensington

When: Currently on soft launch with 50% off food until Saturday 26 September, fully open Monday 28 September
What: Luke Mackay (left) and David Turcan (the duo behind artisan emporium Brompton Food Market) are at the helm of this pub where chef Tim Parsons (who has cooked under Bruno Loubet) will be serving a seasonally led menu of ‘the best tasting ingredients, left alone’.

Canto Corvino, Spitalfields

When: Soft launch with 50% off food from Monday 21 September, fully open Monday 28 September
What:
A 140-cover modern Italian restaurant and bar from the team behind Manicomio, the popular Italian restaurant with branches in Chelsea and the City. It will be headed up by Tom Salt, with an all-day kitchen open from breakfast through to dinner, seven days a week.

Drake & Morgan at King's Cross London restaurant bar

Drake & Morgan, King’s Cross

When: Soft launch with 50% off food from Monday 21 September, fully open Friday 25 September
What: The team behind The Refinery, The Anthologist and The Parlour have added this sprawling bar and restaurant to the foodie hub in King’s Cross. An extensive cocktail list, plenty of craft beers and a wine list worthy of real destination dining matches high quality food on the grill.

Vietfood, Soho

When: Monday 21 September
What: Affordable and fun, offering a genuine flavour of Vietnam thanks to head chef Jeff Tan, who made his name on the London scene at Hakkasan Hanway Place and Hakkasan Mayfair, and is now dishing out steaming bowls of pho and bun based on properly made, long-simmered stocks, topped up with fresh, additive-free ingredients.

Piquet

Piquet, Fitzrovia

When: Wednesday 23 September
What:
Allan Pickett and André Blais collaborate, inspired by English and French cuisine, a theme running throughout both the food and décor, which Blais describes as the perfect ‘Entente Culinaire’. Expect a seasonal menu of classical and contemporary dishes, with locally sourced ingredients (particularly from Kent, Pickett’s home county).

Nanban, Brixton

When: Soft launch with 50% off food planned for Friday 25 September, but we hear rumours of a delay…keep an eye on @NanBanLondon
What: Put together by 2011 Masterchef winner Tim Anderson, this izakaya and ramen shop has been ‘popping up’ until now. Anderson will be sourcing ingredients from Brixton Market, with dishes including deep-fried electric eel in ginger vinegar sauce.
