French restaurant Chabrot Bistrot d’Amis (pictured right) , in Knightsbridge, is to open a second branch next year, this time in Smithfield, east
London.
The popular bistro was launched in January 2011 by four friends – among them former Le Gavroche chef Thierry Laborde. It has since gained a loyal fanbase for its warm welcome, intimate atmosphere,
standout wine list and rib-sticking dishes inspired by south-west France – including the house signature, pot-roasted chicken with foie gras.
The east-end version of Chabrot is expected to stick to its successful French-bistro template, although Laborde told Square Meal that some elements will be ‘very different’.
The new venue will open in March 2013.
