Located in South Buckinghamshire, Marlow is a town set among stunning scenery which is very typical of the area. Originally known as Great Marlow to distinguish it from the neighbouring village of Little Marlow, it sits in a beautiful spot right on the edge of the Thames. Since the reign of Edward III, Marlow has always been home to a bridge over the river and the current suspension was designed in 1832 by William Tierney Clark. These days, the riverside plays host to a number of privately owned boats as well as some impressive modern mansions.

Marlow is known particularly for its lovely old-fashioned high street which is home to a number of independent businesses which make it feel a long way away from London, despite its very accessible location. However, the many amazing restaurants which have opened in Marlow over the years have added a further dimension to the town. Restaurants in Marlow vary from tiny modern European fine dining spots, to highly original Indian eateries. However there is a particular abundance of great gastro pubs in Marlow, some of which have even been awarded Michelin stars. This has made Marlow somewhat of a foodie destination for those looking to have a special meal away from the hustle and bustle of London.
