Ilkley Plaice is the brainchild of local restaurateurs Dominic Roberts and Mark Whaites, who together came up with the concept of combining the popularity of the local Fish & Chip Takeaway with a Seafood Restaurant, showcasing a mouth-watering menu.
Mark’s family have been in the Fish & Chip sector since the early 70’s, so it’s no wonder that he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps by launching his first Takeaway in 1985.
Since then, Mark has launched and run 9 sites in the local area and is renowned for his secret batter recipe that produces a light, crispy texture that melts in your mouth.
Dominic has spent over 20 years in the recruitment industry specialising in a variety of sectors including, more recently, Hospitality. Through his recruitment company, he supplies some of the North’s most renowned and recognised 4 and 5 star hotels with Kitchen and Supervisory/Management staff. This experience gives him a deep understanding of the industry.
Ilkley Plaice Takeaway uses only the best quality potatoes and MSC certified fish for all items on its menu. Combining traditional Fish & Chips with unique choices such as King Prawns and Halloumi Fries means we’re confident you’ll keep coming back for more!
‘Little Plaice’ is a Modern Seafood Restaurant offering impeccable service, coupled with a mouth-watering food menu and enviable wine list. Together with Co-owner Dominic, our Head Chef Sean has created a menu that will suit everyone, with popular dishes ranging from Cajun Chicken & King Prawn Kebabs to Seafood Linguine with Mussels, Clams, Crab and King Prawns.
