About

Embodying the soul of Camberwell, hello JoJo is a quirky all-day restaurant that an easy-going all day menu alongside a diverse cocktail list and a deli-inspired lunch menu. Co-founders Jo(Jo) Lavender and Rob Newlan hope to make a restaurant that reflects their love for the neighbourhood of Camberwell and allows diners to feel ‘nourished by great flavours.’

Serving food and drinks all-day, at hello JoJo there is something for everyone for any time. Why not try head baker Jo Garner’s sweet and savoury lineup? The egg and potato crumpet with brown butter and mushrooms is perfect for breakfast, but we’d happily have a vegan vanilla bun anytime too. The lunch menu is deli-inspired, and serves elevated comfort foods, like the house sourdough with grilled sardines, marinated courgettes and an asparagus salad, or the fresh curds with broad beans and smoked artichokes. The dinner menu is along a similar vein, but heartier, with dishes like a Tamworth pork chop with a buttery spring garlic sauce, or smoked potato dumplings with spring greens. The restaurant’s use of sustainable suppliers like Hodmedods assures the best quality in any of their dishes.

Drinks are also incredibly diverse. Founder JoJo Lavender developed some cocktails herself, such as the Fennel brine Martini, but it’s still worth trying the classics, like the Vermouth and Spritz. Fetch a refreshing beer from Cramberwell's local brewery. Orbit, and non-alcoholic beverages and alternatives are also available, as well as a well-curated wine list to complement the seasonal menu.

The design pays homage to the diverse and creative community of Camberwell. Interiors by designer Michelle Kelly bring out the lively community through the choice of bold colour palette and a nod to the retro aesthetic. To really emphasise hello JoJo’s objective of connecting with guests and with the community, it displays art pieces from local artists and students from the Camberwell Art College.

Hello Jojo is well-prepared to honour the people of Camberwell with their all-day seasonal menus, their varied selection of drinks, and the fun and quirky setting.
