One Good Neighbour just isn’t enough for Paul Williamson who has replicated his popular restaurant in Camberwell with a second site in London’s Tooting Broadway. Williamson opened his debut restaurant Good Neighbour in 2018 and now two years on he is seeking to match its popularity with a second site offering a similar menu of small plates and an eclectic list of wines.
Those just looking for a selection of snacks to accompany a drink are also well catered for. The interesting and innovative assortment of nibbles includes an artichoke and parmesan dip with freshly baked sourdough; spicy Korean fried chicken with sesame and spring onion; and five spice pork belly or tofu bites. Platters of cheese and charcuteries are also available, perfect for enjoying with a glass of wine or three.
As with the Camberwell site, Good Neighbour Tooting is hosting a series of wine programmes featuring its selected wine makers and buyers. The prominent site on Tooting High Street, formerly occupied by Tots, is designed in much the same way as its elder sibling with communal leather banquette seating, wooden furnishings and bi-folding windows. The outside patio will have tables in the summer months, perfect for dining al fresco when the weather permits.
On the weekends a casual brunch menu features all the breakfast favourites like eggs benedict, smashed avocado on toast and huevos rancheros as well as a selection of hearty and wholesome sandwiches and salads including a lobster brioche bap, Korean chicken burger and vegan superfood salad.
