The Copa de Balón is, in our opinion, Spain’s most underrated export. A 21oz glass goblet (which literally translates as a balloon glass) is a style of serve that began its life as a way of keeping G&Ts cold in the hot kitchens of the Basque region. The Michelin-starred chefs that the area is famous for started heaping their Bordeaux wine glasses full of high-quality ice in an effort to keep them cold - and it worked! The bowl shape of the glass enhances the botanicals and character of each gin, whilst the garnish adds to the nose. Throw in a few years of experimentation and we think that the art of the perfect G&T has indeed been perfected.
