OPENS 12 JULY
Joining the existing line-up of Chucs restaurants around the capital (there are already sites in Mayfair, Notting Hill, Belgravia, Kensington and Chelsea), is Chucs St John’s Wood.
This is the largest Chucs thus far, with room for over 80 diners, as well as an outdoor terrace seating a further 16. Chucs St John’s Wood opens daily from 8am, with the breakfast menu consisting of both light and hearty options - choose between the likes of a chia seed bowl topped with seasonal fruit, or eggs royale served with Chalk Farm smoked salmon. You can wash down your breakfast with a cup of coffee or a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice.
Come lunchtime, the menu expands to include a whole host of Chucs signatures, including the Instagram-famous chopped cobb salad and the comforting Cornish crab linguine, topped with chilli, lemon and pangrattato. You will also find seasonal specials that will evolve through the year - think the likes of salmon torchon with peas, grelot onions, wild garlic and mint oil.
In the evening, guests are encouraged to stop off by the bar for a classic Italian cocktail (Aperol Spritz, Negroni, etc.) while meals can be kicked off with a selection of cicchetti - confit lamb croquettes with salsa verde perhaps, or a portion of the much-loved truffle arancini. There are also a few dishes exclusive to Chucs St John’s Wood, including a starter of sea bass ceviche with avocado, radish and cucumber and a main course of lobster risotto served with sauce Americaine.
To round off your meal, tuck into your choice of traditional Italian desserts, such as Amalfi
lemon tart paired with creme fraiche and vanilla ice cream. There is a 120 bin wine list too of mostly Italian bottles, which you can enjoy while soaking up Chucs elegant, 1950s style interiors.
