About Camden's Daughter

SquareMeal Review

Bronze Award

In a sign of the times within this rapidly gentrifying neighbourhood, folksy auld Irish bar O’Reilly’s has been swept away by the urban new brooms at Camden Brewery to provide a showcase for their phenomenally successful craft ales. This ‘bratty’ (their description) daughter can provide a great night out under one roof, involving beer in copious quantities, plus inexpensive kebabs (lamb, chicken, or aubergine and chickpea), nachos, doughnuts, and ‘bowls of chips bigger than your head’. Indie, hip hop and rock DJs supply the soundtrack. To drink, choose from Camden own-brews and guests on rotation such as Hawaii’s Kona Big Wave or Redhook of Washington’s Longhammer IPA , along with various continental-style brews served from taps on the bar’s tiled beer wall. Camden’s Daughter is certainly fun and quirky, but a look that mixes an ornate London Victorian gin palace with a 1950s American-badlands diner has produced a curious hybrid.
