Following the opening of its first permanent site in Clerkenwell, former pop up Breddos Tacos now has a sibling in Carnaby. The all-day taqueria is double the size of the original, and features a large sharing table and counter, while the interiors take inspiration from Mexico. Signatures from the Clerkenwell site, such as the baja fish tacos, are still available, but a breakfast menu is a new addition, touting the likes of breakfast quesadillas and cinnamon churro French toast. Later in the day, the restaurant’s pizza oven takes centre stage with Breddos’ take on tlayudas (Mexican pizzas), including the pea and broadbean tlayuda with chicken skin, black garlic, pecorino and preserved lemon. Other menu highlights include chestnut smoked Tamworth pork al pastor with roasted pineapple, sour chilli and tamarind salsa, and hot pepper crab tostada with cucumber escabeche. Desserts see soft-serve ice cream churro sandwiches, while those looking to continue the party can head downstairs to the Mescal and Margarita bar, which stocks over 30 different mescals.
