About Bone Daddies St Christopher's Place

"Confidently residing at the delectable end of the fast-food spectrum", this high-energy ramen joint continues to win fans – despite mega decibels and a no-bookings policy. The kitchen knows how to conjure a magic mix of addictive flavours ("bone broth plus plastic bib equals noodle bliss", assures one fan), so grab a table or bag a stool at one of the communal benches for a "delicious bowl of goodness". Sustenance arrives "lightning quick", and there's no shame in slurping your way through the different variations on the soupy ramen theme – perhaps spicy miso with Padrón peppers or ground chicken with lip-tingling spice. The (now legendary) rock ’n’ roll soundtrack may not be to everyone’s taste, but snacks of soft-shell crab in high-octane chilli and ginger sauce or unctuous chashu pork and corn croquettes will keep you distracted. Strong Asian-themed cocktails often make use of tangy yuzu, while the line-up of shochu, whisky and saké takes no prisoners.

I am obsessed with Bone Daddies and specifically their poke bowls, which are so rammed with flavour that I actually dreamt about one once. The first time we went was a happy accident, discovered during a shopping trip with my niece - she lives in Singapore, travels Asia extensively and knows a thing or two about excellent Asian food. We were blown away by the bao buns and poke bowls and since then I have actively sought out the other branches. I have taken my kids there and introduced them to the wonders of karaage chicken and authentic ramen; and made a special trip to another branch on on my own just because I really fancied it. The food is very reasonably priced - I had a delicious meal for 1 including a fancy smoothie for under £10.

Terrible service. Not particularly authentic tasting ramen. Mouse running around the restaurant!
