OPENS AUTUMN 2019
Found on Soho’s Old Compton Street, this casual joint is the brainchild of chef and restaurateur Victor Garvey, who also operates Rambla in Soho and Barullo in the City. Like Garvey’s other restaurants, Bar Jaleo takes its inspiration from his native Spain, but in this instance, there’s a special focus on paella.
The rice dish is a staple of Spanish cuisine and there are plenty of variations, with perhaps the most well-known being the seafood version. At Bar Jaleo, the focus is on the fast-casual trade, with paella available to go. There is a smattering of stools for counter dining too though, so you can enjoy a casual meal with a friend or flying solo.
The restaurant is found on Soho’s bustling Compton Street, which is home to plenty of popular restaurants, including all-dayer Balans Soho Society and Japanese haunt Shackfuyu.
