Sicily and Naples inspire this new cocktail/pizza parlour at what was briefly 52 North, where live acoustic music from Luca (lead singer of a supergroup created by F1’s Eddie Jordan) plays second
fiddle to mixology from £8 a pop. Stand-outs include Dolce Vita (vodka, Licor 43, vanilla strawberry and Prosecco), the Anglo-Italian ‘Begroni’ and some daft-sounding names that are nevertheless
worth a punt – ‘banana-na-na-na-nanana’ is hard to pronounce, even if you’re sober. Italian wines head upwards to £65 for Brunello di Montalcino Poggio della Badia 2007. Whether you’d automatically
order that with a calzone, a 12-inch quattro formaggi or spicy salami pizza is a moot point; otherwise the menu takes in various trattoria staples including aubergine parmigiana, lasagne, tiramisu
and gelati. Late weekend DJs, karaoke and bottles of spirits from £200 belie the owners’ nightclub roots.
