The Artusi story began in 2014 when the original restaurant opened its doors in Peckham. Founded by head chef Jack Beer, Artusi quickly gained a reputation for its unfussy, seasonal approach to Italian cuisine. The success of the Peckham location led to the opening of a sister restaurant, Marcella, in Deptford three years later. Clearly, it’s a winning formula, one that’s now accessible with astonishingly affordable two and three-course set menus for pre-theatre dining.
Guests can also enjoy family-style Artusi Soho menus, offering a veritable feast served to share. Plus, you can choose your own starters, pasta, mains and desserts. The menu here changes frequently, but it’s always great quality homestyle cooking. Guests can expect the likes of grilled hispi cabbage with bagna causa and black olives, homemade ricotta with heritage carrots, pork neck fillet with spinach and purple sprouting broccoli. As for dessert, picture scoops or homemade ice cream and chocolate cake with a creme fraiche mousse. Artusi has also put on much-loved menu items like casarecce pasta with roast pumpkin, brown butter, sage and pumpkin seeds.
