Italian meets Japanese (yes, really) at this enterprising Chancery Lane eatery. Sounds weird, but given how popular both cuisines are, the juxtaposition of the two is not as alarming as it first sounds. Lunchtime is given over to fairly traditional bento boxes and curries, but visit in the evening to get a real idea of what it’s all about. Start with a plate of mixed sashimi (salmon, octopus, tuna) dotted with herbs and fresh flowers, followed by beef from the robata grill served with scamorza cheese or risotto made with sake and truffles. To drink? Wine and sake, naturally.
