Set up by oenophile blogger Paola Tich, this “tiny, but lovely” wine bar has an engaging neighbourhood vibe that’s second to none, according to fans who love everything about the place. The focus here is on artisan producers from oft-overlooked appellations, with bottles sold at retail price – plus £10 corkage. Try the Bullshit Grauburgunder 2014 if you’re tired of Pinot Grigio, or lap up WMD, ‘The Will to Live’ – Croatia’s take on Cabernet Sauvignon from a mouth-watering ever-changing selection. Elsewhere, Hungarian sparkling Dereszla Tokaji is an eye-popping revelation for fizz fans, likewise Spain’s sherry-scented Colet Navazos. Well-sourced and capably executed bar food includes various deli and charcuterie boards, plus renowned cheese and truffle toasties (our favourite), native-breed sobrasada and whole baked Tunworth cheese with rosemary and honey. Note: no bookings and payment by card only. It’s also well worth checking out ‘Park + Bridge’ (Paola’s equally fascinating wine and cheese shop opposite).
