Squaremeal Review of Theo's Simple Italian ?

For the past decade, Theo Randall has wowed punters in his flagship restaurant at the Park Lane InterContinental with some of London’s most accomplished Italian cooking. So the arrival of Theo’s Simple Italian – offering all the authentic, bold flavours at wallet-friendly prices – should have fans shouting ‘Fantastico!’. The interior is a cluster of cosy sections within Hotel Indigo, with wood-panelled walls and low-hanging industrial lights. Charming Italian staff guide you through the regionally inspired dishes. We began with a Negroni Sbagliato (Campari, vermouth, Prosecco), then moved on to a bruschetta topped with impossibly rich tomatoes and plentiful chunky, crunchy fritto misto. For secondi, rich, meaty fish stew stole the show, but the line-up of expertly cooked pasta – especially linguine with clams, artichoke and bottarga – is exceptional too. For dessert, white chocolate tart with a gentle chilli kick is divine. A stunning little package, well worth a trip to Earl’s Court.

Great Find in Earls Court

Hi, John, its Amelia . What a great treat to buy me a drink. This is one of the few local casual dining restaurants with a good bar and wine list where the locals are treated like great neighbours. As a result, when I want to have dinner locally with friends, I think of you first. What is great about this place is : where do I start?     Quiet eating :: Quieteating Theos Simple Italian

    I was bemoaning the other day to a friend that it’s been a while since I’ve had Italian. So when my astute fellow blogger noted that there was a new place in town serving this food from the continent, I thought it was predestination. We had to go.
    In the affluent west, tucked into the bottom of a boutique hotel, the restaurant’s setting was exemplary. High ceilings, large windows and comfortable chairs, it had the makings of a simple yet solid eatery.

    Tiki Chris :: Tikichris Theos Simple Italian

    Newly opened Theo’s Simple Italian is Chef Theo Randall’s second restaurant, this one near Earl’s Court and tied to The Hotel Indigo. Like his eponymous restaurant at The Intercontinental, this venture features expertly prepared dishes of top quality and seasonal Italian ingredients just with a smaller menu (fairly ‘smaller’ prices too) that changes on a more frequent basis and is presented in a more casual setting.

    Finding out about the opening of Theo’s Simple Italian presented a very simple choice for an Italian food lover like me. I had to try it. And I’m so glad I did.

    South Place Hotel Brunch – Catch 52 :: Catch 52 Theos Simple Italian

    Theo’s Simple Italian is located at Hotel Indigo in Earl’s Court and is run by the famous chef Theo Randall. I was invited to a preview of his new brunch menu a while back, hosted by the man himself.

    Prior to the brunch, we were treated to a masterclass where we got to watch him make pasta from scratch! He gave us his tips on how to work the pasta machine to our advantage. To top it up he also showed us how to make our own ravioli. It all looked nice and easy but I bet if there was a test right afterwards then I’d fail miserably. He’s a lovely and down to earth chef, who’s clearly got so much love and passion...
