SquareMeal Review of
The White Horse
Although it's known to everyone as the 'Sloaney Pony', this vintage Fulham watering hole isn't as Made in Chelsea as you might expect. If anything, it's a beer drinker's pub, with eight ever-changing cask ales supported by a 150-strong bottle selection and regular festivals showcasing interesting brews. Even the menu comes with appetising beer suggestions: try crumbed pig's cheek with celeriac rémoulade, chicken, leek and ham pie or kale, cauliflower and Cheddar tart with a bottle of Trappist beer or a pint of Adnams Broadside. The pub also sports a very commendable wine list for those who prefer grape to grain. Avoid football match days when Chelsea and Fulham are playing at home if you're looking to spread out on the chesterfield sofas, and arrive early for popular summer barbecues on the terrace. Sunday roasts come highly recommended too.
