One-Eight-One alfresco

SquareMeal Review of The Rockwell Bar & Restaurant

A cute, quirky little restaurant buried inside a boutique hotel where the surrounds are modern – neat table dressings, palm-tree wallpaper – & a gorgeous garden offers alfresco dining in summer. Among the down-to-earth international options of beef carpaccio with rocket & parmesan & calf’s liver with bacon, onion & mash are the inventive likes of lamb with sambuca & rosemary sabayon, & guinea fowl & ginger sausages with spring onion mash & port wine jus. Good puds, sweet service & a decent wine list wrap up the appealing package.
