SquareMeal Review of The Cosy Club Exeter

Brash brasserie food from a fast growing group delivered via a please-all menu that is a roll call of various burgers, fish & chips, Caesar salad & New York-style steak sandwich bolstered by tapas of patatas bravas or falafel with tomato-hummous dip, and specials such as pork chop with Thai spice rub, braised rice, grilled aubergine and peppers. Scrumptious puds such as sticky toffee pudding or knickerbocker glory are well worth sampling – if you can manage them. All-day brunch also get the thumbs-up.

21 April 2016

I've been here twice and desserts were not bad. However, my second time here at your Exeter branch (8.30PM 21 April 2016) was an awful dining experience. My friend and I had to seat ourselves after waiting at the entrance for an extended period of time with no one serving us, and when we sat ourselves, the waitress (Blonde lady in a Blue dress) did not attend to us. We saw that she kept occupying herself with other tables, thus we waited. However, after she passed our table for 6 to 7 times,we decided to perhaps alert her of our presence. She glared at us and told us to wait. When she finally attended to us, she curtly told us to order at the bar. We established that we'd like to order desserts but she repeated it again, emphasising her words in a way as if we didn't understand English. I have previously visited this branch and I remembered ordering desserts at the table as it was considered as dining in. I will not tolerate such lousy customer service.
