The Spaghetti House never fails me. Each time I go I take somebody new with me and it remains an old and stable favourite of mine, particularly as it is one of those Italian restaurants where it does not have Spaghetti aglio olio e pepperoncino on the menu but the chef is willing to prepare it for you - even though it is probably one of the cheapest past dishes! Looking forward already to my next visit - particularly when the weather is warmer, as Sicilian Avenue itself is like a small piece of Italy, and the pedestrianized area allows you to sit at outside tables. Go there and you won't be disappointed - get there too late and you may be if you have not booked in advance.

It must be close to 15 years since I had last been here, and was a bit apprehensive as I was taking a friend there for the first time. I think the Spaghetti Houses are a franchise chain, run by Italian families and was very sad to see the one near the National Portrait Gallery disappear after 42 years, due to the hike in business rates. All of that aside, I was keen to see if the SH in Sicilian Avenue still had its magic and was not disappointed. Arrived straight from work so easily seated (although a reservation had been made) - by the time we left there was a small queue at the door. SH is great for food, service, friendliness and it is a touch of Italy to the lovely Bloomsbury area, with plenty of outside seating in the lovely Sicilian Avenue. Do try it!
