Beware the Saturday influx of maxed-out ‘suburban shoppers', warns one reader – although come one, come all popularity and good-time vibes are Rocket's stock in trade. Outdoor tables are nabbed
when the sun peeps out, the warren-like ground-floor bar gets rammed with drinkers supping punchy cocktails, and the first-floor dining room is a cauldron of noisy chatter and clatter. The open
kitchen works at full tilt, feeding the hordes with gargantuan ‘main course' salads – the rare beef and chip version comes embellished with deep-fried green beans, red onions, radishes, crispy
garlic, black-bean dressing and ginger mayo. There's also a host of pizzas (many involving the eponymous salad leaves), plus seasonal grills such as lime and chilli-glazed swordfish with wasabi and
spinach mash. After that, you may struggle with a deconstructed fruit crumble or pistachio baklava.
