SquareMeal Review of
Rock Star Sushi Bar
It’s all about fresh thrills and entertainment at this family-friendly, out-of-town sushi joint – whether you’re watching the big screen, listening to the rock and roll or salivating over the
glossy illustrated menu in the cool black-walled canteen. The restaurant’s pitch is that it sells ‘high street sushi at market prices’, and there’s certainly plenty to choose from, whether you’re
in the mood for nigiri, cone-shaped temaki or hot futomaki (try the salmon skin with cucumber and oyster sauce). The kitchen also adds some crossover riffs to its uramaki – think spiced tuna with
coriander, black sesame and beetroot-stained rice. Sashimi, udon noodle soup and katsu curry complete the offer. To drink, order ‘flora’ tea and Asahi beer or try one of the saké cocktails.
Bookings for sushi classes are at a premium.
