Squaremeal Review of Queenswood ?

Set up by the people behind Soho’s Damson & Co, Queenswood manages to balance the needs of London’s meat-free diners without forgetting the omnivores. The focus is on a menu of “inventive” food that puts vegetarian dishes “at the forefront” – think ‘green’ shakshuka (spinach, chard, nettles etc)., courgette and haloumi burgers or avocado risotto with wasabi, asafoetida and basil. However, there’s also plenty for those who favour the delights of steak-frites, piri-piri chicken with smoked sweetcorn or glazed salmon fillet with soy, shiitake mushrooms, bamboo shoots, coriander and brown rice. Vibrant presentation is a plus point, and “everything seems super healthy” according to one convert. Finish with a creative dessert or sidestep sweets in favour of a classy cocktail – perhaps a Caipirinha spiked with ginger. Queenswood’s handsome, artfully distressed interior is also perfect if you want to hang out with friends.

Not vegan

by   (1)

Feb 2017

This place is listed as Vegan. It has one tiny vegan option on the menu and nothing is marked as vegan on the menu. The staff look at you like you're a freak when you ask for a vegan option. Your fellow patrons will be stuffing their faces with massive whole cook animal flesh next to you. This is not suitable for vegans trust me.

Excellent Option For Vegetarians - Super Tasty

by   (1)

Jun 2015

Editor's pick As a vegetarian, it can be difficult to find quality dishes in restaurants that aren't an afterthought in the kitchen. Queenswood puts vegetarian eats at the forefront for their menu without leaving out top notch options for your omnivorous friends. Having tried several of the dishes on their menu, I can say that they were full of magical tastes that pleased my palate to no end. It was refreshing to not have to see options of either fried cheese or white flour-based dishes. An array of fresh...

Passport and Toothbrush: :: Passport and Toothbrush: Breakfast at Queenswood

Since there was no sexy half-naked man serving me breakfast in bed on my birthday yesterday morning, I decided to treat myself to a birthday breakfast at Queenswood, sister restaurant of Soho hot spot Damson & Co. This newly opened eatery is another step in the right direction for the square which had been a bit scuzzy for years. Now with the likes of Ramsay, newly renovated Zocala bar and now Queenswood, Battersea Square is going places.

Every few months, enough stacks up around me in Battersea to justify a local round-up.

Let's start with Queenswood - a neighbourhood restaurant and bar from the same folk as Damson & Co., officially opening today in quaint Battersea Square.

It's a stunning site, full of thoughtful interior design touches from Eloisa Cuturi including a playful drawing, spread over wall-mounted literature, a faux-Cocteau sketch, and numerous eye-catching lights...

Connie Consumes :: Queenswood, Battersea | Connie Consumes

Every neighbourhood needs a local which dishes up quality food in an unpretentious, welcoming environment and fortunately for Battersea, this fits the bill nicely. The dining room is simply but trendily furnished, there’s a good looking bar with seats at the counter which I’m always a fan of, and it all feels very comfortable. As usual, we quickly found our table and started perusing the menu but unusually, we downed a shot of tequila before we even ordered anything… turns out we were sitting at the ‘special table’ under the specials board where each time something gets crossed off, you get a shot! Naturally I had...
