SquareMeal Review of Pasta Sereni

Tourists, shoppers and workers around Piccadilly appear to be surrounded by everything that London has to offer, but when it comes to refuelling, there seems to be very little to choose from – unsavoury burgers, wraps and kebabs spring to mind. Pasta Sereni might just be what hungry, busy people are looking for. Tucked up just round the corner, this fast casual restaurant offers hearty soups and salads, as well as pasta dishes for people who want to rest their weary limbs a minute or even stay on the hoof. Doesn’t handmade rigatoni al ragu or trottole with pesto and cherry tomatoes sound more the ticket than machine burger and fries? There’s no alcohol licence, but there’s a nice range of soft drinks and, being Italian run, the coffee’s highly recommended.

When the British think of stainless steel tureens of different soups they tend to think of a entire cup of liquid. At this Pasta place its slightly different-more -sauces spooned into a generous cup of pre cooked softened pasta short noodle size macaroni that is very tasty and just right. This though is not immediately apparent & can lead to er initial confusion.Still, Theres a choice of 16 or so flavours with meat,fish or vegetable combinations some of which are quite flavoursome & packed with a lot.Maybe not making a main meal but certainly a fulsome snack. On a cold winters day I couldn't think of anything more warming or delicious as they really are restaurant standard not snack bar or sandwich bar,&very affordable £5 or less. Youd pay 3 times as much round there for a comparable sit down dish. Restaurant looked very clean.All plastic utensils & bags supplied & knapkin.Not too crowded. Service OK if a bit language hampered in translation but the transaction survived. Just off both Regent Street & Piccadilly.
