SquareMeal Review of Pasha

Hints of Ottoman promise – lanterns, scatter cushions and some pretty prints – brighten up the bright, bistro-style interior of this Turkish grill, and the menu follows suit with international influences alongside more traditional tastes. You could begin with mezze – borek, dolma, haloumi etc – ahead of lamb shish or a mixed grill; otherwise, follow the western trail with beer-battered cod and chips, mussels in white wine or fillet steak au poivre. Set menus stay on Turkish territory and represent very fair value. A small bar dispenses colourful cocktails plus Budvar and Beck’s Vier by the pint, while the wine list has plenty of sub-£20 offerings with a Turkish duo occupying the coveted ‘one up from house’ spot.
