SquareMeal Review of
Handily placed for Parsons Green tube station, this “lovely family-run Italian” delivers that elusive holy grail of “great food” and “brilliant service” at prices that certainly don’t frighten the locals. Monochrome prints of movie stars are arrayed on the pastel walls of the airy, clean-lined dining room (there’s another room downstairs), while the kitchen delivers “excellent-value” dishes full of flavour. There’s nothing too startling here, but you can eat well from a menu that covers all the trattoria staples: char-grilled calamari with rocket salad; fettuccine with spicy Italian sausage and broccoli; chicken and asparagus risotto; calf’s liver with butter and sage. The house special of lobster with spaghetti is locally renowned, while desserts are in the patriotic mould of tiramisu and pannacotta. There are some decent Italian wines on offer too.
