We love this ultra-cool vegan restaurant, where the cooking brims with imagination and sheer deliciousness. Uncompromising purity sums up Nama’s food philosophy – and its influence is palpable from breakfast through to supper. As well as conjuring up inventive salads and juices, the kitchen has a clever way with vegetables, fruit, nuts and spices, reinventing the likes of Mexican chilli, Thai curry, pizza, sushi, pancakes and pasta. ‘Rice’ is marinated kohlrabi fragments, ‘lasagne’ spiralised courgettes, ‘sour cream’ comes from cashews and ‘Parmesan’ from almonds. There’s also coffee, cake and even alcohol in this parallel universe. The clean, spare room has a strong Nordic vibe, with space for 25 on the sunny ground floor and 25 more below. Inspirational cookery courses in raw food techniques are held here. Nama also caters for private events: this food hits all the right buttons in the media-savvy worlds of fashion, beauty and design.
