Nam Long pan Asian restaurant London Earls Court

SquareMeal Review of Nam Long

Made famous by the behaviour of its notoriously grumpy owner – who once refused entry to Prince William on account of his footwear – this 25-year old Sloaney hangout has been taken over by the proprietor’s (hopefully more cheerful) daughter and undergone a revamp.  The menu remains similar: the lethal Flaming Ferrari (Green Chartreuse, Grand Marnier, dark rum, yellow chartreuse) retains its place on the cocktail list alongside the Pink Panther, a flamboyant blend of Champagne, orange Curaçao, crème de framboise and gin and thirst-quenching Watermelon Martinis. If you’re eating, it’s Thai nibbles to share – summer rolls, siu mai (pork dumplings) and beef fillet cubes with black pepper.
