SquareMeal Review of
Me Love Sushi
It might not look much with its plain walls and IKEA-style furniture, but this Japanese café and takeaway certainly delivers in terms of quality and value – none of your rice-heavy sushi-by-numbers here. The menu is continually updated, with plenty of vegetarian options – try the battered silken tofu in a rich, warm dashi broth or cone-shaped temaki filled with shredded asparagus, omelette, tofu, pickled daikon, avocado and cucumber. Otherwise, go for something special such as the cut-price black cod in sweet miso (a decent take on the much-imitated Nobu classic) or pick from a line-up that also includes generous donburi rice bowls, stir-fried Japanese noodles and, of course, superior nigiri, futomaki, crystal rolls and sashimi in various guises. To drink, by-pass the basic western-style wine list in favour of Asahi beer, saké and Pago fruit juices.
