There’s plenty of support for this “great local Indian”, with special plaudits reserved for the “lovely decor, excellent service and gorgeous food”. The long menu covers all the usual curry-house standards, with some more unusual specialities adding interest to proceedings. Die-hards will find all the tandooris, kormas, dhansaks, baltis and biryanis they could wish for, but it’s also worth taking a punt on something less familiar – perhaps a Goan-style fish bhuna, Nepali lamb with hot pickle sauce or the signature chicken chasnidargh (made with a sauce involving honey, lime and balsamic vinegar to give distinctive sweet-and-sour flavour). All the ancillaries are up to the mark too, from vegetable sides and dhal to bread, rice and chutneys. Prices are very reasonable, while staff are “hospitable to a fault and can't do enough for their customers”.
