SquareMeal Review of
Marco’s New York Italian at Mercure London Bridge hotel
One of the biggest names in UK cooking will always attract attention – and customers. At least, that’s what the Mercure London Bridge hotel is hoping, and quite rightly too. Marco Pierre White may be past his White Heat days but his famous intolerance of shoddy kitchen work and poor service is no less potent than it ever was. His take on Italian-American home-cooking is approachable and the ultimate in comfort food, and with his name above the door, diners know to expect the best. Spaghetti pomodoro and pizza Americano will satisfy those with Mediterranean taste, but those wanting a proper American meat fix can opt for hickory-smoked ribs, or tuck into a 10oz rib-eye steak with garlic butter and sweet potato fries.
