SquareMeal Review of
After more than a decade, enthusiasm still abounds for this unreformed Spanish party restaurant – a boisterous joint that suits big revelling groups down to the ground. An eccentrically decorated
but surprisingly airy interior, festooned with greenery, plays host to live flamenco evenings & very British Sunday lunches with some cabaret on the side – as well as conventional dinners &
plenty of sociable grazing. Tapas include all the classics – garlicky gambas al ajillo, tortilla, patatas every which way, tuna croquetas with relish, chorizo al vino, tarta di Santiago – & the
cocktail list is vast. Couples get romantic over pans of paella, gourmet burgers are a surprising addition to the list of fortnightly specials, & some of the entertainment is cheesier than an
aged Manchego. Jugs of Sangria & easy-drinking Spanish wines help to keep the good times rolling.
