Kua'aina Fitzrovia

Squaremeal Review of Kua'aina Fitzrovia ?

Burgers should come with a welcoming ‘aloha’ at this offshoot of the original Soho branch, itself inspired by a long-running Hawaiian eatery on the island’s North Shore – a favourite of President Obama, apparently. The food will be based on signature recipes and marinades, with burger fillings such as pineapple (naturally), avocado and Ortega chillis as well as the usual bacon and cheese. Also expect char-grilled sandwiches – perhaps teriyaki chicken breast, roast turkey or peppered pastrami with grilled peppers. Various salads will add to the choice and US-themed desserts will span everything from high-calorie pancakes with maple syrup to low-fat frozen yoghurts.

Dancing In High Heels :: Dancing In High Heels: HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY KUA 'AINA

So most of you are probably familiar with Kua 'Aina just off Carnaby Street that opened in 2011, but did you know that they have a branch on Goodge Street too? Well, I didn't, until I was invited to celebrate their 1st birthday on Goodge Street where I go to sample their new menu and Christmas specials.

The Boozy Bunch :: The Boozy Bunch: Kua'Aina new menu launch

My first time at this Hawaiian themed eatery and it was nice to finally see what was inside this intriguing looking place. Situated near Goodge Street and in amongst a big old mix of food places for the Fitzrovia workers – it has a lot of competition. What I learnt:
They focus on sustainability, take real pride in what they serve and have a secret seasoning (that is so popular with customers – they sometimes pinch the dispensers from the table!). They also serve breakfasts and are open from 8am. And have created a Christmas burger for Christmas party bookings.

Eat Cook Explore :: Kuaaina Fitzrovia

ot sure how I have not heard of the luscious burgers here. Kua Aina is an American grill serving burgers, hot dogs and all that goes with it at their Hawaiian themed restaurants.
Kua Aina was started by a mainlander in Hawaii. Frank visited the Islands when he was in college, fell in love and never left. His one restaurant is now a chain over there and 2 London entrepreneurs have now brought it to London. The first branch in Fitzrovia is a colourful space, dominated by a tropical themed cocktail bar. The super friendly and smiley staff serve up some killer cocktails like this mango daiquiri.
