SquareMeal Review of
Dreamed up by a young fashion merchandiser and an IT training expert, Kin brings a slice of pan-Asian street food to Clerkenwell – with the emphasis on fresh, healthy eating rather than
high-calorie, canteen stodge. The revamped Victorian building has been trendily down out with swathes of exposed brick plank floors, kooky artwork, shelves of books and bulbous hanging lanterns,
while the kitchen plunders the orient for ideas – Vietnam might bring bánh-mí baguettes, bowls of pho and zingy salads, Thailand offers green curries and pad thai, while China and Japan contribute
homemade pot-sticker dumplings, chicken yakitori and suchlike. Other dishes such as Indonesian nasi goreng, vegetable tempura, crispy aromatic duck and soba noodles are also available. The food is
matched by a thoughtful mixed bag of drinks including Asian beers, wines from artisan growers, juices and some esoteric organic teas.
