SquareMeal Review of Inglesham Forge Restaurant

Intimate, old-fashioned country restaurant in the heart of Wiltshire, serving a limited menu of Anglo-French classics - think avocado royale, escargot bourguignon, fillet steak au poivre and breast of duck with Morello cherries. It’s all supported by an interesting (if largely French) wine list.

Manuel and Jackie Gomez always provide that delightful mixture of a friendly welcome with food to die for. Manuel has been in the area for over a quarter of a century – I first came acrosshis cuisine in the 1645 in Faringdon, Oxon, followed by a brief stay in central Swindon while he was waiting to buy the Inglesham Forge. The environment and atmosphere add to the enjoyment of a good meal out and his menu always gives a good choice of meat and fish. Jackie is in charge of the desserts – leave room for one of her trifles but delegate the driving afterwards! Always a place to go for a special treat, highly recommended.
