Pip Lacey, former head chef at Angela Hartnett’s Murano in Mayfair, has opened her first solo venture. Hicce (pronounced ee-che) is located at the flagship store of luxury retailer Wolf & Badger in the Coal Drops Yard development at King’s Cross, taking up one of the site’s three floors. Hicce seats around 80 diners indoors, while its alfresco terrace accommodates a further 35.


The restaurant is a fast-paced wood-fired joint, offering a selection of grilled, steamed and smoked dishes from midday onwards. On the menu, you can expect the likes of homemade rye bread with seasonal cheese, cured meats and pickles, as well as yakitori chicken skewers cooked over specialist holm-oak charcoal. The dedicated bar area serves craft beers and cocktails, and the concise wine list is an additional highlight, with bottles sourced from small-batch, independent producers featuring biodynamic and organic varieties.
