SquareMeal Review of Freedom

Crushed velvets & crystal chandeliers impart a baroque bordello vibe to this long narrow bar, while myriad mirror balls reflect kinky cabaret, smooching, & 60s’ go-go girl shape-throwing, punctuated by occasional stand-up comedy in the basement lounge. An elastic happy-hour policy means some might end up a little the worse for wear: beers (four for £10) or wine at £11.95 a bottle will see to that. Elsewhere, a cosmopolitan congregation sips ‘Carrie Bradshaw’s drink of choice’ while lounging in cream leather booths. Mind you, with the latest Dolce sheath dress to squeeze into, Sarah Jessica Parker’s alter ego might prefer something from the range of ‘skinny cocktails’ such as a strawberry & passion fruit martini at 150 calories. Freedom’s classy spiced mojitos are also worth checking out.
