Ethos

Squaremeal Review of Ethos ?

Dreamed up by entrepreneur and meat-free crusader Jessica Kruger, Ethos aims to offer casual, self-service vegetarian food to shoppers, office workers and tourists mingling around Oxford Street. Eclectic global food is the deal, with a menu that could take in anything from Hyderabadi Scotch eggs and Thai corn fritters to Colombian crema de aguacate (avocado) soup and loubieh (Lebanese green bean and tomato salad) – plus hearty Tuscan stews and sweet treats including indulgent ‘cake balls’ and Dutch-inspired gevulde speculass cookies. Juices, cocktails, wines and specialty teas satisfy the collective thirst. As for the decor, expect floor-to-ceiling windows, planted birch trees and neutral tones with blue and gold accents, plus a fine-weather alfresco space.

    Happy Belly: L'ETO Caffé Brompton (London) :: Happy Belly: Ethos (London)

    It's hard to get vegetarian restaurants right and it's hard to get buffets right. It's difficult to develop a vegetarian concept that can also draw in the carnivores and it's incredibly limiting in terms of the food you can prepare as they need to be served on a warming plate for 30 minutes before people eat it. However, Ethos, a vegetarian buffet restaurant, has made a good effort.

    It's not the standard falafels and roasted potatoes (though you get that too), but rather dozens of dishes ranging from rainbow salads to aloo scotch eggs to vegan Shepherd's pie to seitan ribs. You grab a plate, take what...

    I'm Wandering and Positive :: Vegan Desserts? Deliciously Healthy Restaurant | Ethos Review

    I love meat. How could I live without things like the Greedy Burger and all of it’s bacon jam goodness.

    A life of eating vegetables alone doesn’t sound very appetising. But Ethos have showed me that vegetarian food doesn’t have to be tasteless or boring.

    I totally forgot there wasn’t any meat on my plate. That’s a first...

    POP-UPS & PUCCI :: Ethos - Veggie self-service heaven

    I was due to meet up with a friend for belated birthday celebrations. Usually when we meet up she tends to be the only vegetarian in the group, looking on (probably in disgust) while we attack meat based dishes without being able to join in.

    Consequently, when I came across Ethos, a vegetarian improved glossier version of Tibits (apparently) I was intrigued and decided to give it a go – at least she’d be able to tuck into all the dishes on offer!...

    Life of Shayan - My Blog :: Life of Shayan Ethos

    We all like good food and foodies will try most things in the quest for good food.
    As an Iranian meat eater, and someone who medically needs red meat in their diet, Hearing about Vegans and Vegetarians does make me slightly uneasy.

    However, in the last few years, I have definitely learnt to appreciate vegetarian food.

    So how does Ethos work? Two words, weight plate. Think ottolenghi style food; vegetarian salads, with broccoli, butternut squash and kale and then add more veg main dishes too.

    On offer this evening was a full array of dishes. On my plate abve I had a beetroot salad,...
