SquareMeal Review of Dalston Junction Room

The latest addition to this chilled hangout/social space/art gallery at the heart of happening Dalston is a slightly claustrophobic basement club/bar. DJR’s music policy is as diverse as its stylish clientele, who seem to echo the bar’s successfully put-together penchant for salvage chic. The range of cocktails is limited to the likes of strawberry mojito, orange caipirovska & Dalston bramble at £7, so it’s probably wiser to stick with the 15-bin wine list (including quaffable Chilean Sauvignon Blanc at £20) or the usual line-up of lagers (Budvar, Becks et al). As well as wraps, salads & sharing platters, the menu offers quesadillas, a quintet of burgers, & steak or chorizo in ciabatta; otherwise, the daily lunch deal is pitched at rock-bottom prices.
