About

Within the city centre and minutes from both Canterbury Cathedral and Greyfriar Gardens, Cote Brasserie is the ideal spot to have some fine French cuisine whether it is whilst touring Canterbury or for a meal following a shopping trip.

The menu at Cote Brasserie Canterbury offers both meals that are reminiscent of the French homeland, with dishes like Moules Frites finely cooked in white wine as well as salmon ratatouille. Along with classic French recipes, Cote Brasserie Canterbury offers signature British favourites such as sustainably farmed 10oz fillet steak or confit pork belly with crispy savoy cabbage. At Cote Brasserie Canterbury, there is a desire to give diners both a taste of France as well as familiar favourite dishes.

Cote Brasserie also offers a range of plant-based options with a full menu of dishes for vegetarians and vegans including chickpea tabbouleh drizzled with a harissa dairy-free yoghurt.

Cote Brasserie also offers a range of rich desserts including praline crepes topped with caramelised banana as well as creamy creme-caramel, giving diners a range of lush puddings. Additionally, for those who wish for a dessert that is less intense, Cote Brasserie Canterbury offers several refreshing ice creams in assorted flavours.

Cote Brasserie Canterbury offers an extensive range of drinks including independently brewed Meteor beer as well as a plethora of red and white wines such as full-flavoured Meursault 2018 and crisp Lagarde Blanc 2019. Also available are an arsenal of ‘after dinner’ drinks including dessert wines like Domaine De Barroubio, great for something sweet to drink following a hearty meal.

Cote Brasserie Canterbury brings together a range of meals, both filling and light for diners, along with a myriad of different drinks, suitable for all occasions. All this makes Cote Brasserie Canterbury a great place to enjoy some time with family or friends.

Cote, we forgive you the soggy croutons. There were extenuating circumstances

The restaurant was absoutely full when we went for lunch in August 22. For this reason, we had a wait for our starters and main meals, and the croutons in the soup had become soggy as a result of the wait. The seabass was tasty. My partner found the whitebait not crispy enough, but these are minor faults, we imagine it must have been hectic in the kitchen. Waiting staff is professional and attentive, but were also rushed. We a prix fixe lunch and reckon it is good value for money. We will definitely go back when it is less busy.

Saturday lunchtime

At outset, friendly welcome and allowed to select where we preferred to sit. We were asked about allergens and warned that payment would be cashless. Very minor minus point was that a 10% Tip is included in the bill which I do not like as I prefer to set my own tip rate as I feel appropriate.

All three points appear at the bottom of the menu but the latter was not drawn to my attention?

Enjoyed our meal which was well cooked and enjoyable without being outstanding. Service was friendly at a busy time. Cost was reasonable in today's terms.

We Are Regulars . . .

We eat regularly at this restaurant - at least once a month - and are always impressed by the friendly, efficient service even when things are very busy and the good value Cote offers.  I have deducted a half star for food only because, as a vegetarian, the menu is not nearly as varied as it once was.  Perhaps as things as they presently are it would be too much to hope for a complete return to "the good old days" but a more frequently varied menu would be much appreciated by regulars like us.  Cote at Home certainly manages to achieve this.
