SquareMeal Review of
Coppa Club Lounge
You could choose to sit on the terrace at Coppa Club’s Market Place branch and watch the busy street-life over a bottle of Italian rosé or Sauvignon Blanc (£19). But for a totally different, cosier vibe, head through the restaurant and downstairs to the wee cocktail lounge. Here, drinks are prepped at a dinky corner bar and sold at competitive prices: £7 for Espresso Martini, Negroni or Frangipane (Amaretto, peach liqueur, maraschino and Prosecco, one of various Spritzes and Bellinis). Other ideas such as a Sipsmith Sloe Gin Sling, Maple Old Fashioned and various toasted nut Sours cost a fraction more, and there’s also a selection of ‘unleaded’ drinks: mocktails for abstainers. The bar menu’s stuzzichini include Italian sausage rolls, sticky-glaze chorizo, crispy fried squid with sriracha mayo, and crunchy fried truffled gnocchi (£2.95). Alternatively, fill up with pizzas, burgers, or cheese and salumi platters to share (from £6.45).
